Research Focus

Dr. Lucy B. Spalluto leads an active research program aimed at improving cancer outcomes by increasing the use of imaging-based cancer screening. Her work focuses on identifying and addressing barriers to screening and developing strategies to ensure that all Veterans have access to timely, high-quality care. She combines her expertise in radiology, health services research, and public health to implement data-driven solutions that improve patient outcomes, particularly in rural and underserved populations. Dr. Spalluto’s research is supported by the VA Office of Research and Development, the VA Office of Rural Health, the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation, and AstraZeneca.
