Oversight and Transparency
Middle Tennessee Research Institute is governed by a Board of Directors, none of whom receive compensation for their service. The Board ensures that the Institute operates responsibly and in alignment with its mission. MTRI undergoes an annual independent financial audit, with auditors reporting results and their assessment of financial operations to the Board.
Funding Sources
We carry out our mission by administering funds from gifts, grants, and contracts. Funding currently comes from private foundations, federal agencies, and for-profit organizations. Some private donor names are confidential, but federal funding details are publicly available at usaspending.gov.
