Research Focus
Dr. Murff has over 22 years of experience at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he has mentored 22 pre- and post-graduate students and junior faculty. His has extensive research experience in health services, chronic disease prevention, clinical trial design, health care disparities, health care informatics, and nutritional epidemiology. Dr. Murff has received funding through multiple grants from the NIH and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
His primary research focuses on understanding the relationship between polyunsaturated fatty acid intake, inflammation, and chronic disease risk, using both dietary assessments and biomarker-based approaches. In addition, Dr. Murff has conducted research on quality of care and patient safety.
