Research Focus

Dr. Roumie’s research centers on improving healthcare quality, safety, and outcomes through health services research and quality improvement initiatives. She has contributed extensively to advancing patient care across medicine, surgery, and pediatrics by mentoring the next generation of clinician-scientists and investigators.

Her dedication to research mentorship has been widely recognized:

  • 2019 – Grant Liddle Award in Research Mentorship

  • 2022 – Paul Bataldan Quality Scholars Alumni Award

  • 2024 – Excellence in Mentoring Award from Edge for Scholars

In addition to her mentorship, Dr. Roumie has secured funding to support studies in quality improvement and health services research, fostering innovative projects that have strengthened patient care at the VA and beyond.
