Oversight and Transparency
MTRI is governed by a Board of Directors, none of whom receive compensation for their service. MTRI also undergoes an annual financial audit by an independent auditing firm. The auditors report the results of their audit and their assessment of the financial operations of MTRI to the Board of Directors. Lastly, MTRI will make public its 990 tax return upon request. This can be done through our contact page.
MTRI performs its mission of support to VA TVHS by applying for, receiving, and administering funds received in the form of gifts, grants, and contracts. Funding sources currently include private foundations, for-profit companies, and federal agencies. Due to confidentiality agreements, the names of some of these private sources may be withheld from the public. Federal funding information is publicly available through www.usaspending.gov.
