Dr. Jennifer Lewis is a practicing thoracic medical oncologist and health services researcher at Vanderbilt and VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, where she co-directs her VA’s Lung Cancer Screening Program..
Her research centers on bringing CT lung cancer screening into everyday clinical practice, with a special focus on engaging healthcare providers. She led the VA-PALS evaluation of CT lung screening across 10 VA sites and is currently studying new ways to expand access to screening. This includes implementing mobile lung cancer screening for rural Veterans and leading a multi-site study of high-risk Veterans, including those with toxic military exposures, who may benefit from broader screening guidelines.
